Mathematics Extension 1 (3U)

Course Overview

Year 12 Mathematics Extension 1 course is designed for students who have strong mathematical ability and want to extend their skills beyond the Advanced Mathematics syllabus. It covers more complex algebra, functions, trigonometry, calculus, and probability, with an emphasis on logical reasoning and multi-step problem solving. Students develop advanced skills needed for high-level university courses in mathematics, engineering, physical sciences, and economics.

This course builds on the Year 11 Extension 1 content and often overlaps with Extension 2 topics, providing a deeper understanding of concepts and preparing students for the most challenging HSC examination questions.
